First Day of School 2012

First day of school. First day of school!
I love the lazy days of summer. No place to be. No homework or lunches to pack. I also enjoy having Luke home way toooooo much.... and so do the kids! Like many other families, none of us slept very well on Sunday night, dreading this day! haha.

First day of school in 2009.
Wiggy came home from the hospital that morning after we took the boys to their classrooms. The boys were so excited to come home from school and see their sister!! :)

This year we had Wiggy starting her first year of pre-school.

We had our traditional McDonald's breakfast in the car on the way to school! :)
We were able to walk in the back gate of the school, right next to the boys' classrooms, which was SWEEEEEET. Saved me over 5 minutes of walking time.

Little Wiggy.
I did cry after I said goodbye to her and left her classroom. I cannot believe she is in pre-school. She was happy to be there though!

Last Hoorah of Summer

My parents and nieces left our house on Friday morning. We rested up from a week of partying and late nights and then I headed up with the kids on Sunday morning. Luke needed to work and since I was taking the week off with the kid, I thought it would be a good idea to go visit my family in northern California.
Here are my three vidiots on the drive up.
So peaceful!!
Monday was shopping, shopping, and more shopping. Good times with my mom and all the kids. :)

How do you entertain yourself while Grandma is shopping for purses in Nordstroms?

Wiggy loves the kitty Anna.

Monday night all the kids ended up gathered around Holden while he played on the IPad....like moths to a flame!

Tuesday we headed to the water park in Roseville, Sunsplash. It was crazy busy. A lot of people, but we still had fun spending the day with Grandma, Bert, and three of our cousins!

Tuesday night we slept at mom and dad's house. We were up bright and early so we could head to San Francisco for the day. Lucky for us, Luke's sister was able to drive down from Petaluma to spend the day with us.

Driving down Lombard street.

Last minute I decided to make it Zip Zabba Day for the kids. We had so much fun playing around the city. It went by really quick since we needed to have Aunt Jenny back to her place before 6pm. On the way home we stopped for a beverage and I let the kids pick out something from Target.

Thursday morning we had a leisurely morning and ate breakfast with the cousins before we hit the road.
The kids were ready to be out of the car...and so was I.
On the left, was Scout with about 80 miles left on the road. We stopped at the Tulare outlets and got her some cinnamon sugar pretzel sticks. She was cool for the last leg of the trip. The boys had ice cream cones from Rocky Mtn. Fudge Factory.

Thank you Bob and Lindsay for letting us bunk with you the first two nights of our getaway. Thank you mom and dad for letting us take over the downstairs room with our beds the last two nights.
Maybe we should make this a August tradition! :) We had a lot of fun...as usual.

The Baer's Come to Visit

The second week of August was my mom and dad's tour of duty with the kids. :) Thankfully they are able to come down for a week every August to watch the kids for us. This year they brought two of the kids' cousins...Bekky and Natalie.
It was such a treat! We absolutely loved having everyone come stay with us. It was Natalie's first time away from her parents for this long and she did great. (I think she secretly wanted to stay with us forever!) Hahahahaha.
The three kids all slept in the living room all week long. Bekky slept in Wiggy's bed and Wiggy slept with us! :)

Bubba got his top braces on this week. Thankfully he doesn't wear the head gear at night, for another month!

Play time at the spray park!
Thank you mom and dad. We love you!! XXOXO

Wiggy's 3rd Birthday

It happened.
My little crazy girl with an attitude has turned three. Goodbye free admissions. Bummer! But all good things come to an end. :)
It's so much fun to see this girl grow into the enormous personality she has. She looks like Bubba, but acts like Tubbs.
We had her birthday party the week my parents were in town, so it was 10 days earlier than her actual birthday. My parents were watching the kids for us during the day while we were at work. I am so thankful for them being there. They were a huge help in getting the house cleaned up and ready for the party. I am also thankful for Luke's parents who made the ice cream and brought down some salads to go with dinner. Luke and I are really so fortunate for our parents and all they sacrifice for us!
Luke made the cake for Wiggy...and spent almost 2 hours decorating it. I think it was worth it!

Bubba right before everyone arrived for the party. I think he was tired.

Her new bike...just like daddy promised. Complete with basket, bell and Starburst!

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
