Sick Little Girl

Princess Mermaid Wiggy has been sick for weeks, with something or another. This really is a tough time of year for this girl. We have been to the doctor once a week for the last 3-4 weeks. (Too bad the doctor office doesn't offer a frequent flyer award.)
Anyways, last week's latest adventure was something we haven't tackled before, so it threw us for a loop. Hives...all over her body.
The second morning she woke up with even more hives I took her into the doctor. They gave her an antibiotic because they believed she had a possible sinus infection but not sure what exactly caused the hives. Thankfully after four days they were completely gone.
Little Miss Wiggy was a trooper thought. She snuggled on the couch and she stayed off her feet.

Bathroom Renovation

Last June, when we replaced all of the wood flooring in he house, Luke thought it would be best if we didn't put wood back in the bathrooms. We agreed to lay tile in the both bathrooms instead. Then my adoring husband thought it was would be an even better idea to redo the entire bathroom! I really was skeptical because I wasn't really looking for a project....plus I am "challenged" when it comes to designing and matching colors. Thankfully he was up for the task of picking everything out and handling the entire process. We hired a friend of a friend who ripped everything out for us, did the dry-wall work, installed everything and did the tile....for $1000. We just had to pay for materials.
Great deal!
In the end, I really do enjoy the updated bathroom. Considering we have been walking on concrete floors since last June, it makes the new floors seem EVEN better than expected. Luke did a great job with everything.

Before: We had white tile along the bathtub wall and shower. We also had cabinets with dual sinks and white tile counter tops.

After: Luke hung the mirrors, shelves and towel rack. He also did all of the painting.

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
