Bubba's 15th Birthday

Bubba's birthday fell on a Sunday this year. We went to church at 11:30. After church Grandma and Grandpa Hogue met us at the house and Bubba opened his gifts. We had a 5pm reservation for a Tipinyaki restaurant.
Bubba's seminary teacher brought him this huge cookie on the Friday before his birthday.

His choice for breakfast was chocolate chip croissants.

Bubba ordered the chicken and shrimp. The rice was REALLY good!
We love you Bubba. Heavenly Father knew what he was doing when he sent you to our family first.
You are definitely a teenager now. You love to sleep...and you love to eat. You will eat almost everything. When we go out to eat he likes to order the tri-tip, the shrimp...anything big and expensive. But Bubba is still our very kind and generous kid. He still loves to wrestle and mess with his brother. He always has his hands on something and loves to play games on his phone. He gets really annoyed listening to his sister sing---so she makes sure to sing a lot. He is very quick witted, with a good sense of humor. He likes to have a good time and can take a joke. He always has a comeback for anything and I am a little surprised sometimes how quick he responds. He always has to have the last word. He is taller than mom and almost the same height as dad. He weighs around 205 pounds.

February 2017

February!! I love February. There are only 28 days in the month. The kids kids have two school holidays. Valentine's Day. Bubba's Birthday!! It's a great month!!
Wiggy and I bought an annual pass for Disneyland!! I told Luke we were going for 2-3 days but then I started checking out the annual passes. One thing led to another. We pay for 12 months and get one additional month free! We are pretty excited. We are planning to go at least two days each month!
California Screamin and Splash Mountain are her favorite rides! We got her an autograph book and it was filled by our fourth day.

It rained pretty good on our second day--so riding the roller coaster in the rain was a little painful. I couldn't keep my eyes open since I was being pelted with rain. It's a fun memory though.

Dropping Bubba off at seminary with his bike one morning. When it's cool outside he doesn't want to ride his bike to seminary so mama gives in and gives her poor little fella a ride. I am usually in my bathrobe, so it's a good thing it's dark outside.

 Valentine's cards from Grandma Baer.
Rufus even sent a little card to Wiggy.

Valentine's breakfast consisted of heart pancakes and eggs. The pancakes weren't shaped too great, but I tried. haha.

Wiggy got a Valentine's delivery from her friend Maya!

We got bought Luke a hammock for Valentine's Day. Very romantic. I also picked up Luke's fave 7 Layer Bars since I picked up a treat for each of the kids.

The pink beanie that Aunt Jody sent to Wiggy as a gift.

The school jog-a-thon with her good friend Ava. Wiggy ran 13 laps and raised over $150 for her school!

She wore my old running shoes and they were only a little big on her. That girl wears a size 9 in women's!

One Friday morning the shelf on the left side of the closet decided to collapse. What a mess! I emptied everything I could onto the bed. Luke ran to Home Depot to get a few items and put it back together that night. The good thing is it forced us to purge quite a few items!

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
