First Wheelin' Trip of the Summer (2014)
Friday morning the boys loaded up and hit the road! They were headed north to meet Grandpa Baer and heading to the Rubicon. They stayed up there three nights and from what I could tell from Grandpa's photos, they had a relaxing time. They played some chess, shot a million BB's with their guns and got plenty of wheelin' in. Luke couldn't wait to get the Jeep out and I know Grandpa felt the same way. Hopefully this summer they will be able to do a few more runs.

20 Year HS Class Reunion
20 years.
Seriously....I am old.
I can still remember so many (many) details from high school and the friends I grew up with. Don't ask me what I did yesterday or the name of the person I spoke to at church today in the hallway, but I can remember Kern Valley all too well. Many of us went to school together since pre-school or Kindergarten.
Luke was off camping with Grandpa and the boys for the weekend, so I was officially dateless. (I asked Leah Wolfe to be my date and she was a go, but then had to cancel a few days before because she had too much work to do before graduation at work) So...I was Julie's second date...or Julie and Larry's third wheel. :)
It was so much more fun than the 10-year reunion! I thoroughly enjoyed talking with every single person there and hugged everyone. It really was a lot of fun...so glad I went.
The official reunion ended at 10:30 because we had to be out of the lodge. Most everyone went up to "The Hut" in Kernville to continue socializing. Around 1am we grabbed some food from a taco cart at Circle Park. Everyone was eating nachos, tacos and burritos. Surprisingly at 2am I was wide awake. Probably because I just loved laughing with so many people I grew up. So many special people and memories! I stayed the night at Julie's parents' house and slept on the couch.
Me with all of my make-up. At least it photographed well because I had my doubts.
Julie and Stacey giving their sad faces for a photo I sent to our friend Sarah Stevens who couldn't attend.
John Moffatt and Leah Sturm
Tara Leisher....
Jules...
(You like my cute name badge with the senior photo?!)
Deanna, Julie, Stacey and Chris in photo booth gear.
Kissie duck lips
Our money for the 50-50 drawing. Haha. I put in a whole $5...and didn't win anything. :(
Amber, Julie and Stacey....
Our dinner table.....
Preston Hogue....
Todd Harwell....or was this his twin Tim? I can't remember...but good thing he had a name badge on.
Mary, Chris and Jake....with Jake's fancy new KV Broncs license plate frame. Haha.

Trying to figure out how to make a "94" like we did for our Senior yearbook. Everyone was too busy laughing and socializing to listen to any directions from the peeps on the steps.

Girl's Weekend
Luke and the boys left Friday morning, for their first Jeep expedition of the summer. Before they left, I got up early andpicked up some donuts....since it was National Donut Day and all. :) They left around 9am to head north to meet up with Grandpa Baer.
After the boys left we cleaned up and headed to the movie theater at the mall, to see "Maleficent." Wiggy has been begging me to see this so she was very excited!
After the movie ended we headed over the mall to do a little shopping. This girl loves Sephora...and applying anything to her lips. She is actually quite good...but seems to prefer red.
Saturday morning I took this girl to her favorite breakfast....a four-cheese souffle and cinnamon roll from Panera. She was a happy camper.
I also had to take a photo of her first single French braid. It lasted a few hours, surprisingly.
I painted her nails and toes to match mine, so we had to get a twinsie photo. I love doing girlie stuff with her.
Saturday after lunch I met up with Grandma in Caliente so she could stay the night with her. Grandma and Grandpa babysat while I headed up to the Lake for my 20-year reunion.
Sunday morning I left the lake early and picked up Wiggy from Grandma. She missed her mama and I missed her sooooo much. We relaxed on Sunday afternoon and napped. Monday morning I had to work so she went to pre-school. She made this for daddy in class.....
We really enjoyed our weekend together but we are both ready for daddy and the boys to be home already!

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....
So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
