100 Days Left?

When we found out we were pregnant in December this point of the pregnancy seemed so far away. Like many expecting parents we were afraid this baby girl would not make it to this point....but here we are! Luke and I endured two first trimester miscarriages in 2006 and I think we just kind of assumed I was meant to be the mother to two boys! Thankfully there was more to Heavenly Father's plan and this little girl will be here before we know it. (When I think back to 2006, I think this little girl was scared to death of being sent to two crazy big brothers--and said she would like to wait until they "matured" a little bit) :)

Is it really possible that I only have 100 days (give or take a few) in this pregnancy? 100 sounds like such a big number but I know the next 3 months are going to fly by!
Or not.
I guess with the dead heat of summer ahead of me, the days could drag by really, really slow. But with Luke and the boys out of school in a few weeks for summer vacation I am really looking forward to the next 3 months---even if I am miserable in the heat.

100 days until:
  • I have to give up my elastic waist band pants. I love these! (Why can't GAP start carrying these and they be considered fashionable?!) :)
  • I get my 6-pack abs back! (Ha-ha-ha! This one was Luke's idea)
  • I don't have to use the bathroom 5 times every hour. (Did I mention how much I love elastic waist bands?!)
  • We can finally stop guessing about who she is going to look like. (Curls or no curls :) )
  • I have no excuse for not exercising
  • I can eat cookie/brownie batter again.
  • I can't park in "expecting" parking at Babies R Us or the Galleria.
  • My belly hanging over my pants will no longer be cute---and no one will want to rub it
  • I can't blame my irrational behavior and irritability on "pregnancy." (Darn it)
  • Tubbs will have to start calling the baby by her real name instead of "Baby Lauren")
  • I don't have an excuse not to go 4-wheeling in the Jeep
  • Luke will trade in my late night foot rubs so he can hold his other girl
  • I won't have to get on a scale at the Dr. every month/week and be reminded how much weight I have gained! (One of the worst parts of being pregnant I am sure)
  • My shoes will hopefully fit better
  • I have no reasonable excuse for eating like a pig
  • Nursing bras (Ewwwwwwwwwwwww)
  • I have a stroller to push when I go shopping. (I miss having something to help carry my bags)
  • I am reminded how good a baby's little head smells
  • I can start wearing control pantyhose again (LOL! I just gave these up because I figured I was suffocating the baby....and I am going to miss them)
  • I can dress someone in pink or lavender other than myself
  • I have a good excuse for not showering all day and looking (and smelling) like a mess
  • I have a little person to carry around on my chest and take naps with!
  • Tubbs becomes a big brother
  • We become a "party of five" and one of us will have to sit by themselves when we go to Disneyland! :)

I can't believe my baby is 3 months old now, so I guess those 100 days and then some will fly by in an instant, all things considered.

BTW, pregnancy looks really good on you. You look particularly gorgeous lately...must be the pregnancy "glow". Or are you just wearing different makeup? Whatever it is, it's working!

I am so with you about elastic bands. And well pretty much your whole list. I can't believe the day will be here soon. I am so excited about it. It will be a whole new world for you. And Luke is going to be so wrapped around Scout's finger.

Eating cookie/brownine batter again is reason enough to asked to be induced. And, good luck with the summer. I've done it three times. Not fun. I'm guessing you'll be in the pool a lot.

Carrie---you noticed the "glow!" I invested in some sunless moisturizer for my pale, pathetic, bloated face! :) I am glad to hear its working.
Actually, thank you for the compliment. I will take what I can get.
And Kristin--have you ever seen a whale in a swimming pool? If you weren't ditching us in a few weeks you could come over and check it out. But I absolutely refuse to buy the maternity moo-moo suit. I will settle for t-shirts and swim trunks!
And Yes Carianne...I think Scout all ready has Luke wrapped around his finger. Its going to be VERY interesting to see what happens when she actually does something wrong.

who says you can't wear the elastic waist band pants after the pregnancy. If your shirt is long enough no one ever has to know. I didn't know that you aren't supposed to eat batter when you are pregnant, maybe that is what's wrong with my kids. Forget the moo moo prego swimsuit. To try and induce labor I tried to go swimming. The only part of my regular swimsuit I could get on was the top part of the tankini. That was fun to explain to the nurse in labor and delivery why my rear end was sunburned.

Congratulations!! How excited you must all be! Your post almost makes me wish for another baby.......I said ALMOST! lol
And it's not so fun when one person has to ride by themselves. At least you've got a ways to go till then. Good luck with the summer heat! It won't be too bad.....as long as you don't get out of the pool! :)

You haven't been too desperate to eat the cookie/brownie batter. You just have to make it without the eggs. Believe me, it tastes the same. It will just be "YOURS." Keep it in the freezer and find out if Scout likes it, too. :)

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
