Mother's Day 2011

Mother's Day conjures up so many feelings and emotions.
Luke reminded me that "everyday is Mother's Day for me!" Yes....it sure is! :) Hahahaha!
It's nice to have a day where I have absolutely nothing I am SUPPOSED to do.
We all know that's not really how it goes...but its nice to pretend. I find it very hard to just do NOTHING. I try...I really do...with no success.
Breakfast: I had no requests. I really had no idea what I felt like. So, Luke conjured up a breakfast omelet, hash browns and PB toast. Delicious.
My collection of Mother's Day treats from the kids. I really appreciate that they are able to make something at school for me. Tubbs told me how hard he worked on my card with all the handmade hearts he colored on the front. Bubba made me a little leather coin purse too!

After breakfast we got ready for church. I really love that church doesn't start until 11am. Its almost the perfect time. Of course I would settle for 10am if I had the chance.
Trying to get everyone to smile. We were standing in the share yet it was still too bright for Bubba. Amazing. He seems fine when he is playing tetherball....
Finally....a decent one

After church Luke asked me what I wanted for dinner. Again, I had no idea. I had nothing in mind. Suddenly...it came to me.
A pizookie....from BJ's.
Thats what I needed!
We all at a little of the healthy stuff...so we could save room for the pazookies. Unfortunately, after we ordered mini pazookies for everyone, they informed us they were out of the small tins and we got full size pazookies for the same price.
Darn it! I hate it when that happens!!
Another thing I was so disappointed about...the "Red Velvet Pazookie." :)
Mother's Day was complete!!

After dinner we took a nice walk around the neighborhood and headed in for the night.
Another wonderful day with my family. Bubba made sure to point out, as he crawled into his bed, that my ONE DAY of the year was over.
Yes...I love this one day of the year. I asked the boys if I could celebrate Mother's Day again tomorrow....but they weren't crazy about having to make me cards and gifts.
Shucks!
My Mother's Day gift from Luke and the kids was given to me Friday night so I could use it yesterday on my run.
What a pleasant surprise! A Garmin GPS watch thats pretty nifty for running. I really love it!

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
