As a belated Valentine's gift, Luke and I went out of town together to Pasadena. In true Katie-fashion, I mostly just took photos of food. I love my food.
We left Friday at 4pm after Bob and Nancy picked up the kids. We were in Pasadena and checked into the hotel by 6pm.
We ate dinner at "The Counter." We tried this place before in Thousand Oaks and it is fabulous. I got the turkey burger with bacon, onion strings, cheese and BBQ sauce. Amaze-balls. Their Parmesan shoestring fries are one of the best things everrrrrrrr.
We found this napkin tucked away with the other napkins on the table. We thought it was pretty funny. Don't worry...we didn't try the sliders.
After dinner we drove 10 miles east to Angora Hills, to "The Donut Man." I saw this place on a show on Food Network. They are famous for their fruit stuffed donuts. Now they have fresh strawberries stuffed inside a fresh donut.
It was gooooooood. They are open 24 hours a day and apparently they have long lines 24 hours a day!
Saturday we ended up just walking around. We didn't know what to do and the weather was so nice, so we walked around Paseo and Colorado. A few hours after lunch we saw a reflexology shop where you could get an hour massage for $25. Luke wasn't digging the idea when I first suggested it....but a few minutes later he changed his mind.
This is us right after leaving the massage. I fell asleep and Luke was telling how painful it was. He said he kept looking at me, waiting for me to open my eyes. He makes me laugh....a lot.
Saturday evening we couldn't decide what to eat for dinner....so guess where we ended up. :)
Tonight they had fresh "tiger tails." So goooooooood.
After we picked up some more treats we headed back to the hotel. Then we walked next door so Luke could get take-out from California Pizza Kitchen.
Sunday morning we checked out. We both started feeling under the weather over the weekend. Sore throats, congested. We had brunch at El Torito and then headed home. We picked up the kids from Bear Valley Springs and headed home! I am so thankful for these little weekend getaways with Luke.
