July 2016 Highlights

We are home from the big, crazy family vacay of 2016 and decided to take it relatively easy in July. It's crazy the month of July is already over! It's like I blinked and it's now August! I am ready to get out of this heat, but I need summer break to slow down.
Luke headed back to work on July 5th and I went back July 6th. (Inset angry, sad face here.)
Sunday, July 3rd we headed to church in our red, white and blue. :)

A little frozen yogurt with Bubba and Wiggy on dad's first day back to work.
(Tubbs was at T-Bone's house)
Wiggy told me that when she grows up when she wants to be a judge on Cupcake Wars. Bubba says he wants to be an athletic trainer for the NFL.

Tubbs and T-Bone  rode to the house to pick up some stuff.
Bubba and Tubbs stop by my work to say hello on their way
back from Jamba Juice!
Tubbs had two teeth pulled on July 6th! Gotta make room for those braces!
On Friday, July 8th the kids went on a tour at Krispy Kreme and got to learn how they make donuts.

The movie "The Secret Life of Pets" came out and Wiggy absolutely needed a date night with dad. While they were out at the movie and dinner, I took the boys to Marie Calendar's! We did eat some dinner, but we went for the pie! :)
                                                 Braces on...Finally!
Madi Montana came to the house and played with Wiggy this week. They did lots of fun stuff. During the week they made cupcakes, swam, went to a movie and went to Chick-Fil-a. On this day they dressed like a cow they got free food!
Tubbs got his pads for football.
He can't stop wearing the helmet around the house.
Wiggy went to play with her friend Maya one day. To her utter surprise, Maya had a pug! Wiggy couldn't have had a better day playing with her a friend.

Took the kids to a special breakfast at 24 Street Cafe. Both boys had to get blood work done, so I promised them breakfast afterwards. Bubba goes big these days---and maybe that's what happens when you weigh 195 pounds and 5 foot 11. He went for the cinnamon roll, biscuit and gravy, steak and hash browns.

Helping daddy make dinner before the boys leave for a week, to Boy Scout camp. Wiggy headed to Bear Valley with grandma and grandpa Hogue!
Youth Temple trip to LA on Saturday, July 16th.
Wiggy learning how to make blankets.
She really seemed to picked it up pretty quick....is what I hear.
I am not sure if they are crocheting, knitting or what.
(I am obviously not talented at all in the art of making stuff.)
Wiggy had a great week with Grandma and Grandpa. They brought her back down to the house on Thursday, after I got home from work.

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
