Grandpa drove down on a Tuesday morning and Luke and I flew out from LAX that evening. It was a very busy day! We arrived in Cancun around 6am. They are three hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time. Thankfully it was a direct flight and it didn't take too long. Of course we were dragging on Wednesday morning. We ate breakfast at the hotel and they checked us in, so we could sleep for 3-4 hours.
We spent a lot of time at the hotel, either in the pool or out at the beach.
Our second night there we took the bus to the Ruth Chris restaurant which was about a mile away. The bus ride was a real adventure. Dinner was really good!
On Friday we went on an excursion which was about an hour away. They had ziplining, ATV's, underwater caves. All sorts of stuff. Unfortunately, Luke wasn't feeling that great and he wasn't a fan of the ziplines.
We drank only water when we were there, which isn't cheap since you can't drink any tap water. We bought a lot of bottled water that week!
We arrived home late Sunday night. Monday morning we stayed home and saw the kids off to school. Grandpa was nice enough to get Bubba out the door to seminary since we didn't get to bed until almost 2am.
The kids had a good week with Grandpa. He sent us lots of pictures of their various activities. The kids got spoiled with Pop's famous breakfasts before school and ate well each night. We were so blessed to have Grandpa home with the kids.
Grandpa took Wiggy to Open House. She was really bummed that mom and dad weren't there, but happy Grandpa was.
