November Happenings

November, November I love you!
November is one of my favorite months because it's close to Christmas, Christmas break, the kids get a week off of school for Thanksgiving and the weather is nice and cool!
We love November!
Wiggy requests that daddy lay down by her EVERY night.

Family cooking night at the school kitchen. We made chili and cornbread.

This is me on a Saturday morning.
This girl almost shoves me to the edge of my bed every night.

Wiggy received a gift in the mail from Aunt Jenny in Minnesota. They are a pair of ballet slippers signed by the ballerina who wore them. Wiggy tried to put them on her feet---but they were too small.

Pajama day at school the Friday before Thanksgiving break. I picked the kids up at 12:30 and we went to get lunch at Sequoia.

Some pretty masks in the Wiggy spa.
Wiggy and her friend Maya at the church Harvest Festival.
We made a blackberry pie for the pie contest. We also made a chicken chili for the chili contest and we won!!

Bubba's last football of the season was on Thursday, November 3rd. Grandma and Granpa Hogue came to watch.

Family Cooking night at the kitchen. We made Macaroni and cheese with whole wheat noodles.
Tubbs was NOT a fan. Haha.

Daddy's birthday was Friday, November 4th. He took Wiggy for donuts with dad that morning for school. For dinner he was a good sport and we went to Tony's Pizza for Wiggy's soccer party.
Before dinner we each read 11 of our favorite things (totaling "44") about daddy! It was pretty neat and I think Luke really enjoyed it.

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
