Must Be Summa' Time

Summer doesn't officially get here for about 2 months.
But since it hit 97 degrees yesterday, that meant it was time for the summer buzz cuts.

Luke is a huge fan of buzzing the boys' heads every summer.
Me--not so much.
I think it makes them act even more "turd-ish" and I think it kind of makes them look like what I call a "dirt kid." What I do like, is not having to wash/comb the boys hair every morning/night.

Bubba's head of hair is so thick that at the right length its almost water resistant. I think I could market the stuff and make some real money!
It took 5 times as long to do Bubba's head as Tubbs.
My favorite part of having Luke buzz the boys' heads is the funny hair-do he gives them along the way.
Bubba posed for a few pictures as the cut progressed. But it was funny at the end because we made Bubba believe he was all done and was ready to get in the shower...but Luke left a little patch of long hair on the upper side of his head. I watched Bubba come dancing in the bathroom to get in the shower and admire his haircut---when he noticed the patch of hair. The look on his face was so priceless it makes me chuckle now as I write this.

We had to talk Tubbs into getting his buzz cut. His hair is so easy I actually didn't care one way or the other if we buzzed his head. He eventually gave in because he wanted a silly buzz like Bubba had.

This morning he changed his mind on the buzz cut and wanted us to glue his hair back on. It was pretty funny. I told him I would buzz my head because then I wouldn't have to comb my hair either. Bubba and Tubbs thought that was funny and started snickering like "Beavis and Butthead."

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
