200

Yes--the day has finally come.
I had an impromptu Dr visit this afternoon and what's the first thing a pregnant woman has to do when they call her back from the waiting room?
Step on the scale!
I hate that scale! (Even more than my scale at home because I think its off by 5 pounds) :)
I try to strip off as much clothing/accessories as I can. At that point the the rubber band in my hair adds at least another pound.
In my pre-pregnancy (more slender) days the slider on the bottom bar of the scale would be on "150." Well today, I could have sworn the nurse should have left that bar on 150---but she broke my heart and moved it up to "200."
If I wasn't so tired from working all day and going to bed late last night I would have been a little more concerned/annoyed at the time. I normally schedule my monthly check ups in the early morning because I am sure I am 5 lbs lighter. So today when the nurse told me to come in late in the afternoon I had mixed emotions:
YAY---I could leave work a little early
YUCK--- I really don't want to go sit in a waiting room FOREVER---then get weighed....and checked. Poo on that. But thankfully today the doctor was quick---so I could only whimper about the 9 lbs I put on the last 5 weeks.
Of course as I am writing this I am slurping down my Hawaiian shaved ice from the "Sno-Shack." I just started craving snow-cones Monday and I hope my husband starts ignoring my pleas to take me over there. I even got online today to check out prices on a snow-cone machine. I tried showing them to my husband and he calmly replied, "We are not getting an ice machine for sno-cones." I could feel my heart break in a million pieces.
Of course he probably could imagine me and the boys bouncing off the walls all summer from the delicious, sugary snow-cone syrup.
Mmmmmmmmmm.......

If it makes you feel any better, I think the San Dimas scales weigh a little heavy too. You look great, and Scout is all worth it!

So, with the shaved ice...do you add the cream as well??? I have never tried it, but I heard it is delish. I am sure you look great...I haven't seen you look otherwise. At least your hubby isn't there gasping at your weight and laughing because you weigh as much as he did in high school...yeah that was Bart and the nurse thought I was going to kill him on the spot. Good luck with the pregnancy!!!

Oh girl you look great! Enjoy it all! Of course I am really hoping Katrena is right and the scales weigh a little heavy there too. Cause that would mean I have lost more weight than I thought. :o) WooHoo! But seriously you look good and I would not even worry.

I'm so happy you found the Sno-Shack. Sounds like a good craving to me. I always have a big weight gain in my second trimester. I'm always hot and big at that point so I really don't care what the doctor says. I'm sure Scout is loving the shaved ice too.

Katie, you look terrific. And if it's any consolation, I tipped the scales over 200 with at least one of my pregnancies, maybe 2 . . . and I'm much shorter than you. It's all worth it, and it will go away in due time.

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
