10 Month Bug

Petunia is only two months away from turning the big ONE.
Seriously?!
10 things about baby girl:
1- She has three beavers, but she will EAT anything she can get her hands on. I never had this blessing with the boys. She loves anything that she can cram into her mouth. Thankfully she doesn't appear to be allergic to anything yet.

Trying out a strawberry at Murray Farms

2- Very little seems to really "bug" this girl. She can have a diaper "full" and be perfectly content in her high chair or car seat. I have experienced this on several occasions and I am not sure if this is a good thing or not. She is also a "dirt girl" at heart. She can have anything on her face and hands and it won't bother her in the least. (She must be related to Bubba....like there was every any doubt)

3- She is a fashionista. Courtesy of Grandma Hogue she has quite a few handmade britches (bloomers) with her name labeled on them. We call them the "Scouty Collection." (Maybe they'll catch on one day.)

(Handmade bloomers and flower on the shirt)

4- I love dressing her on Sunday mornings and trying to figure out what she going to wear. Her everyday clothes are in her dresser drawers, but her dresses hang in the closet. She has acquired quite a collection. Such a collection, its a shame she doesn't go to church everyday! :)

5- She all ready knows how to throw a tantrum. Great.

6- She smiles A LOT and still has her dimples. Which means its very easy to get good pictures.

7- I live vicariously through her and love to dress her like a doll. I cannot wait to get my hands on her hair...when it eventually decides to grow. I have so many things I want to do with her hair, because I know she won't have curls like mama.

8- She is still a mama's girl--- But my husband says the "conversion" is beginning since he is off work for the next seven weeks. (I am not convinced and Petunia told me not to worry!)

9- She loves to rummage through my pantry, which is why we call her "bug-coon." Her latest casualties include a bag of fruit loops from Costco and maple syrup....from Costco. I mention Costco because that way you know the mess is EXTRA large.

10- I painted her toenails for the first time this week. She was passed out on Luke's lap while we watched a movie and I couldn't resist. The job isn't professional, because I didn't want to wake a sleeping giant! She has been so fascinated with my toenail polish lately, I have to admit I thought she would like playing with her "pigs" more. But I don't even know if she notices anything different.

Adorable! I can't believe that she's already almost 1. Maybe you should have another (you already have the wardrobe)! ;)

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
