We are very proud of our Tubbs for making the decision to be baptized. It's a significant day I hoped would come, but ultimately it was his decision... and we are thankful.
Tubbies is my special middle child and he tries so hard to make the right choices. He has a special spirit and he likes to ask questions. THat is a great thing, but it can also be difficult when I don't know the right thing to say.
Tubbs received a baptism work book from Grandma Baer a few months ago, so every week at Family Home Evening we would do at least two activities from the book. We really enjoyed doing together as a family and we did the same thing for Bubba.
Our home teacher from church came with these cookies that his wonderful wife made. They were so cute! Great idea Hanson family.
The best part of the day was having so many of our family members there with us. All of Tubbs' cousin on my side of the family came! It was so special because we have never had them all at our house before for a visit much less all at the same time.
Grandma and Grandpa Hogue, Grandma and Grandpa Baer, my brother Bobby and his family, my sister Sarah and her kids, and my youngest brother Bert.
Uncle Bobby baptized Tubbs a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Grandpa Baer did the confirmation blessing.
One thing Tubbs was not a fan of that day was wearing his suit jacket....or tie. The boy does not like ties! But I talked him into wearing it until we got in the car to head home.
After the Baptism we took LOTS of pictures before heading home to grub. We had to get a picture of my parents with all 10 grand kids. It's so rare! :)
After we headed home we prepared a big lunch: BBQ chicken, tri-tip, Asian chicken salad and dipped strawberries, roasted red potatoes.
After everyone was stuffed, a few napped while both Grandmas played on Pinterest and the grand kids swam. It was a great afternoon together!
