May Mayhem- 2015

May was a wonderfully long month and it's come to an end. We had a wonderful month and we are so thankful (and ecstatic) that school is out! Like Luke says (over and over and over and over) to the kids, "summer time is party time." Bring on June!

Miss sassy pants after a quick trip in and out of Sephora. She always finds a way to sneak on the darkest lipstick she can find.
Tubbs bought himself a Go-Pro camera with his birthday money.
He is loving it! We had to have a talk about when it's appropriate and inappropriate to film people.
Miss Wiggy and Kaymin playing dress-up after school at Amberly's house.

Tubbs has his last band and chorus performance of the year. This time around it was at Warren Jr. High, so it was close to home.
Bubba had a ukelele concert at his school. I am really proud of him for building it in his elective class and learning to play it. I think he might like to learn to play the guitar.

Bubba on the way home from school....doing what he does best.....causing havoc in the backseat. This kid has had braces on since August 2012. If he doesn't get them off before school starts, I may just take them off myself.
Wiggy talked her dad into a pet....a beta fish (named Belle). How long can we keep this thing alive, really?! Confidence is low.
"Morning with Mom" at the kids' elementary school on the Friday before Mother's Day. The kids each had a donut and juice. I watched them eat and snapped pictures. :)
Wiggy releasing some ladybugs in the school garden. She had tons of ladybugs crawling all over and she loved it!

Last day of school was Thursday, May 28th. It was a half day at school and the kids were READY to get the heck out of Dodge. I left work before lunch to pick up the boys.

A "little" last day of school treat. I picked up the boys and took them to dad's work where they spent the rest of the afternoon because I had meetings at work. Wiggy stayed in daycare, which she really enjoys.
Wiggy and her last day of school treat from Miss Sonia. She is officially a first grader!
May 30th the family joined me for the "Fit for Business 5K," at the Riverwalk. Aera is a sponsor for the race, so they paid for all five of us to "race."  It was an early morning for a Saturday morning. Tubbs ended up finishing the race with me, but Wiggy petered out before mile two. Luke and Simon turned around with her and headed back, so technically they didn't finish. After the race Luke took us to breakfast at the Broken Yolk Cafe.

I have no words for this picture. She went with her daddy to the pool supply store and came out with new goggles. At some point that afternoon she began snapping selfies of herself with my phone. She is quite the little personality.

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
