This is Wiggy's third year of soccer and this year her games are on Friday evenings. (Which I love!) Also new this year is it's 5 on 5 versus 3 on 3 last year. Her team name is the Zebras.
Her first soccer game was August 20th. On the way to the game she said she was going to "crush them like coconuts."
Her favorite thing to do is talk trash. I love watching her talk to her teammates during the game and those on the opposing team. She is a funny little girl. During one game she knew a few girls from the opposing team, who were "boo-ing" the Zebras and making comments. So when Scout scored a goal she turned and said, "who are you boo-ing now?!" I have no idea where she gets all that sass from.
Morgan showed up at her third game with a cute sign. It was very sweet and a fun surprise for Wiggy.
Tubbs is playing tackle football for the Talons, which is a feeder team to Bakersfield Christian HS. He mostly plays offense (Middle Linebacker) but he also plays tight end. On occasion he does plays halfback on defense. His games are on Saturday afternoons. He has been talking about playing tackle football since the fall of 2015. Last year he had to decide between soccer and football.
Tubbs is really fun to watch because he makes most of the tackles. He made a great solo tackle during game four and incidentally injured his knee. He has sat out the last three weeks of practice/games and finally got cleared to play today when we got his MRI results.
Uncle Bob made this and sent it to me in his video game.....
Bubba decided to he wanted to go out for the high school football team and we were a little surprised, but very proud of him. We knew he enjoyed watching football, but didn't know if he's ever be interested in playing. At 5 foot 11 inches and 200 pounds, he is built for football. He plays mostly right guard, on offense and he is on the kick off return team. He has also played a little bit on defense.
Bubba's games are on Thursdays at 5pm. We love watching him play and watch him improve each week!
Bubba had a FABULOUS speech therapist while he was at Warren. She would come over from Reagan, just to see him every week. She did marvelous things for his speech and made him work hard. She came to see him play at West High in September and we went to dinner afterwards. Bubba gave her a big hug when he saw her after the game. He was surprised to see her. We were so glad she showed up!
Bubba has really loved playing his first year of tackle football and we hope he sticks with it through high school. He has also made some good buddies from the football team, so it's an added benefit.
