How much MORE money do I have to go around??
I think our government officials think I have an unlimited supply!
I quote our governor..."Democrats already have called for tax increases, but Republicans have adamantly refused them."

If I have to cut the "bug man" and the "pool guy"to make my budget work I think our state can find ways to cut their spending! Which is also amazing considering these new propositions that passed Tuesday. How much are we going to spend now so chickens can spread their wings before they are slaughtered?? (aka Prop 2---You really don't want to get me started on this...but I will rant for a minute) 95% of the California egg industry and accompanying economic output would be lost by 2015. The total current economic output of the industry is $648 million and 3,561 jobs. Egg production costs would increase by 76%. AAAAAAhhhhhhhhh! Did anyone think through this before they voted yes??
Call me selfish....but all I did when I voted on these new propositions is look at the cost. We do not have the money people. And if the government wants the money, where do you think they are going to get it??
You and Me.
Do you think my boys would like some painted rocks out of my yard for Christmas? I wish I could get away with not buying a thing so I could avoid at least one tax.

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....
So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.

I still can't believe prop 2 passed....and by such a large percent. Seriously, we're not talking about dogs and cats, we're talking about our food! I don't know what people were thinking. I, like you, checked to see how many billions of dollars these props would cost us, the tax payers, before I voted. And most of them were no's. It seems absurd that simple things cost so many billions of dollars for 30 something years. And we pay for it all! You don't see any of them making any sacrifices to their cushy lifestyle. Anyway, sorry for ranting and raving. I'm not even that in to politcs but this whole election got me really fired up! At least we got prop 8.....for now.
Listening to the liberal media (aka the crazies) and the people who are fawning over Obama has made me want to move!
Could it be worse? Oh yeah. But come on people! Show some integrity.
We are doing a "homemade" Christmas this year. Everything has to be homemade or free! I'll let you know how it goes.
I voted for propositions the exact same way! If our stupid state is in such a massive budget crisis and programs (especially EDUCATION) are being cut left and right WHY on earth would we add new programs and expenses?
