Yesterday was our ward's primary program at church. As most parents do, I look forward to this every year. This is Bubba's 3rd program and Tubbs' 1st so I was anxious to see if they would actually sing and speak into the microphone this year. In the past Bubba would kind of mumble and step down from the podium as quickly as possible. Saturday morning I found the primary song CD for this year's music and played it trying to get them to sing for me in the car. Instead I found myself singly loudly to "I am a Child of God" trying to get something out of them. It didn't work.
A few moments before it was time for the primary kids to walk up to the stand I reminded Tubbs to sing for me and not to pick his nose. Luke looked at me and laughed. He told Tubbs, "You don't wanna make mama look bad!" I just gave him "the look."
As I tucked in Bubba's dress shirt and adjusted his tie I reminded him not to play around up there and to keep his arms and legs to himself. He then asks me, "What if I accidentally kick or hit someone?" To which I replied, "Then I might accidentally have to spank you." I didn't get a response to that one.
Nevertheless, as always, the primary program turned out great. The kids make you smile, laugh, cry--all within a 20-30 minute time span! I look forward to next year's program all ready!

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....
So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.

You are very funny. I think your boys are so handsome. You dress them so cute. It reminds me of when mine were young, When I could dress them the way I wanted to. Now days we have tennis shoes with dress pants, now that's a great style. By the way, you can visit my blog anytime. I will be visiting yours too, if that's okay. By the way, my brother's girlfriend Holly took the picture you liked of my family in Tehachapi last year. It was the last picture of the day and it's my favorite.
Ours is next week...I am a bit nervous for it as I was called to the chorister last week and I feel so unprepared and the kids seem like they don't know the songs very well (at least all of the versus...our ward has them singing every verse to every song...the first verse comes out good and then nothing...oh well)
It's my favorite sacrament meeting too. And Luke looks at me everytime the kids start to sing to see if I'm crying.
