Girls Weekend - 2011

Technically I guess it wasn't all girls since my 2 and 12 year old nephews were there too. But nevertheless, it was MOSTLY females!
Every year when Luke and my dad head out on the Rubicon just the girls are left to "fend" for ourselves. :)
The guys pulled out Thursday morning and I spent the day puttin' around my parent's house in my pajamas. I even got to take a nap with Petunia around noon. I finally got in the shower later in the afternoon and we headed out to go shopping. We went to the "Fountains" and my mom took me to the Vera Bradley store to check out the purses. Then we went across the street to the Galleria mall for their weekly family night.
Grandma bought tokens for all the grandkids to ride the carousel. Petunia LOVED it.

They were doing live music, airbrushed tattoos and "Hair Flair." My sister Jody and my niece Bekky got into town just in time and met us there. My sister-in-law Lindsay also met up with us for dinner and fun at the Galleria. So...we all stood in line for free Hair Flair!
Yes..pay no attention to the purple fingers who were coloring with markers beforehand.

Our first day of fun was complete and we headed home to pass out for the night. We had to rest up for a full day of shopping on Friday.

Cousin Natty went with us to Nordstrom's Rack and helped us find some cute shoes.
This girl was ready for action! She loves to shop.
Everything at Gap Kids was 40% off and Petunia was dragging around everything she could find when we let her out of the stroller. She found these backpacks and lunch pails irrisistible.
Grandma Baer found her a purse she could bring with her shopping...so she looked like a big girl...with a pacifier. ha-ha.

After a LONG day of shopping we headed back home to swim. Petunia and her cousin Holden getting ready for a dip in the CHILLY pool! Seriously....chilly.

and EAT! Lindsay picked up a dozen cupcakes and Grandma ordered some pizzas. Good tiems.
Of course we ate the cupcakes first! My sister Sarah and her two kids came over to swim and eat too. Its so nice to be all together!

Saturday...our last hoo-rah for shopping before the guys get home this afternoon.
This is what I woke up to this morning. This little girl crowds me to the edge of the bed each morning. Good thing she is so snuggly.

My sister Jody left this morning to head back to Redding. She is leaving my niece with Grandma for a few weeks of fun so we were excited.

I went to "Ulta" first, hit up "Marshall's" afterwards since it was next door and ate lunch with Grandma and my niece Bekky at Subway.
I have to say...I absolutely adore Ulta. I love Sephora, but Ulta is soooo fabulous AND they have coupons. I cannot wait for ours to open next month!

After more shopping at the Galleria we headed back to "the Fountains" for shopping and frozen yogurt. Petunia was a big fan of her bowl of deliciousness.
Finally we got a call from the guys and they were headed home. Yay! We always look forward to their call so we know they are safe and sound. That also meant we had 1-2 hours left of shopping fun with the girls before they stinky boys arrived from their camping expedition! :)

Grandma bought all the stuff for my dad to make his famous enchiladas for dinner. Of course since it was my idea I had to pitch in and help. It was well worth it. I love my dad's enchiladas! My brother Bob and his family came over to grub, as did my sister Sarah and her family. (Bobby and Lindsay even brought some lemon cupcakes with them!) Heaven!
Sunday morning Grandpa made a big breakfast and my brother Bobby and his family came over again to say goodbye. I love spending time with my family and our visits to Roseville. I cannot wait until our next trip at Thanksgiving.
We stopped in Tulare and walked around a bit. Petunia loved the new friends she made in Gap.

The last hour home...the kids were OUT!

That Stop Wasn't On My Itinerary....

So the Hogue's made it to Florida for our first official family vacation. It was Sawyer's first plane ride....and Simon's first plane ride that he can remember. We were excited....the boys were stoked. We had everything we needed! But it seems that Sawyer packed something with him that wasn't on our checklist: a big case of pneumonia. Yes, the little fella made it almost one whole day in Florida before he started heading downhill fast. Our 2nd day in Orlando we were in the Urgent Care south of Cocoa Beach. (By the way, to see a doctor more quickly, it helps if you vomit all over the waiting room in front of the receptionist. Little tip for ya) After chest x-rays they advised us to head to the ER in Melbourne, where they eventually admitted him to the hospital. So, we had 3 night deluxe accommadations at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The little whipper snapper was a trooper though! The nurses loved him, thankfully, and made us all feel right at home. We were going to send postcards out with pictures of the hospital since we spent 40% of our trip there...but they didn't have any. Imagine that!Hmmm.....maybe its something they should consider.
